All for the finishline🙏🏻 A bit of mixed feelings about @ironmanswitzerland Thun yesterday 🫶🏼 Not what I wanted to show but I guess there can happen a lot in 10 hours 👀 so let's share my story of my first ironman full distance ✨️ Swipe 😘 Pics by @nikolas.schaber 📸 The day started pretty good ☀️. My body felt good, mind was all focused, I was a bit nervous as always... I was so happy to stand on the start line of my hometown ironman in the pro field. Never have I ever thought this will happen one day✨️☺️ We jumpt into lake thun and really fast we realised that it won't be the easiest one. Waves challenged us the whole 3.8km. I didn't catch a perfect group. But just wanted to get it done 🤓 T1 - this crowd... wow... thank you Thun!!❣️ My switch to the bike went pretty okay. Fist time pacing 180km in a race? Challenging. But it started well... First 90km all as planed. I started my second loop focused and with still something in my tank 👏🏻 After 135km the hammer hit 😵 Some km before my back started cramping up and pressed on my nerves. I slowly lost feeling of my legs and the pain got unbearable. I decided to stop😖 I found myself laying next to the course screaming in pain and trying everything to loosen up my back. I couldn't move or get back on my bike. Should I DNF? 20min passed. Then it started to get better. I couldn't call it a day... this day was about so much more 🫂 So I completed the bike course, with, I guess, the easiest pace I rode in a race before. But it was all I could push. But I made it to T2 - and started running 🪽 My back loosend up and it felt like a dream. 13 km in my dreampace, then it hit again 🫠 The electric pain through my legs was horrible. Thinking about giving up? Worse. So there was only one goal left: the finishline 🤷🏼‍♀️ Friends and family carring me through it all 🥹❣️ Some up and downs more (vomited a few times 🤭)... But never gave up ❤️‍🩹 And I made it 🤍 what a day. Little one needed a big hug ❤️ @r.delhees_3
